PORTRAITS
1. I picked the second portrait and the one that is in the gallery. The lighting in the shot is dark and the light is coming from the background. The dark shadow is on the right side of his face and body and creates a shadow.
2. The model is situated with the soccer ball spinning on his right finger. I included his face as well as his chest and arms, but not his full torso. He is slightly tilting his head.
3. I took a vertical photo. My angle of taking the photo was straight ahead as it was not taken above, below, or to the side of the figure. I was a moderate distance from the model.
4. The lighting and expression communicates a very simple and straight forward approach to the photo. Nicks face is very serious and focused, so the point of view is straight on and the lighting and shadows are simple.
5. I will compare the second photo to the 4th photo, which is another of Nick. This photo used a lighter background and a higher brightness to communicate a more positive feeling and theme to the photo. The point of view is also slightly above, and the models positive expression creates a more positive theme for the photo.

1. The light in this photo is coming from the right and also from the subjects face and the shadow behind his head.
2. The gesture of the model is that he is looking straight forward at the camera with a slight turn to his body. His right hand is gripping a chair and his left hand is on his waist.
3. The background looks like his own house, with the door in the back, as well as the chair.
4. The point of view is straight forward as it is not above or below. The distance is very close.
5. The lighting and position both communicate a very serious expression and theme.
